I'm writing this guide because, while the tutorial gives you a good idea of a few important concepts, it explains far from enough to get a new player going. There's a lot more to it, but that's what the rest of the guide is for. ![]() This is Hacker Evolution at its most basic. You must keep this below 100% in order to avoid losing the level. As you do these things, your trace percentage will increase. The objectives change per level, but the basic idea is that you hack into a server, check its files, take its money, and find the hostnames of other servers to hack into. Feel free to play Hacker Evolution at your own pace. ![]() Bonus points are awarded for beating a level in under thirty minutes, but it's far from necessary. ![]() Unlike Uplink, gameplay is performed through a command line prompt with minimal clicking - and unlike Uplink, speed is not critical. Hacker Evolution is a nifty little hacking game that takes a few cues from Uplink, but plays differently from it on some very fundamental levels.
